We’re thrilled to announce to our customers, friends, fans, and followers that we’ve begun a HUGE expansion project here in Lisbon.
To meet growing demand for sustainable, nutrient-dense organic, local greens, we will expand our operations from 18,000 square feet of grow space to 500,000 square feet over the next six years.
The first phase of this expansion (Greenhouse 3 in yellow in the image above) is almost complete, with production in our new 40,000 square foot greenhouse projected to be in full swing by May. This single greenhouse alone will nearly triple our yearly production so we can supply more communities throughout the northeast. That means more quality jobs here in Lisbon and greater access to nutritious, organic, local lettuce for thousands of people. Our goal has always been to improve upon the standard way lettuce is grown, and the quality of our produce reflects that.
Today, we're in every Hannaford store throughout New England and New York state as well as 95% of the Whole Foods stores in their North Atlantic region. This expansion will also enable us to supply more stores and grow more of the new products we've been testing in several Hannaford and Whole Foods stores last year. These products include our single cut Boston Bibb and single cut Greenleaf that are ready to be placed on your favorite sandwich with no chopping or slicing. We're also excited to expand production of our salad mix that brings the best of all three varieties into one convenient package.

Once Greenhouse 3 is complete, we will use Greenhouses 4-7 to grow even more of our current products and try new varieties of leafy greens. We’ve been working on a few that we're keeping secret while we get the quality, consistency and flavor just right. Stay tuned for more details later this year!
This is an exciting time for all of us at Springworks. We started our business 6 years ago in a single 6,000 square foot greenhouse. Greenhouse 3 alone will be more than six times bigger than Greenhouse 1 which shows you just how far we’ve come and how much more work is still ahead to reach our 500,000 square foot goal.
